NOVICE EVALUATION GROUPS
Sunday March 25th @ Lions Box
Groups are exactly the same as last time. We’ve reposted them just in case!
Group #1 5:30 – 6:30
Group #2 6:30 – 7:30
If we have missed your athlete, please send a message.
These are “weather permitting” – in the event that we have to cancel, the announcement will be made on the facebook page and website.
The following coaching clinics are being offered in Nanaimo:
Level #1 – May 6th @ VIU, 9:00 – 4:00
Level #2 – May 4th & 5th @ VIU
May 4th – 6:00 – 10:00
May 5th – 9:00 – 4:00
Reminder that ALL BENCH STAFF MUST HAVE A LEVEL ONE – there is no “door ticket” anymore.
Anyone 16 years of age or older who is coaching in the association this season will need to get registered and space is limited. Please email Cathy at firstname.lastname@example.org in order to register. Please send your name, email address and a contact phone number.
NDLA will cover the fee for the course. Once registered, BCLA will send you an access code so you can go online and do the “pre clinic” components.
New coaches are permitted to start practices and include “pending” on the game sheets under coaching number. Anyone who is not certified after the May 6th course will be removed from the roster.
If you have questions, please ask! Remember space in the courses is limited – don’t wait to register if you are not certified!
Quick shout out to all families who haven’t yet paid their 2018 lacrosse fees…
ALL FEES ARE DUE BY MARCH 22ND – without exception. We have a waitlist in many divisions and cannot hold spaces for kids who have outstanding balances.
Please send your etransfer to email@example.com on or before the 22nd or your athlete will be released and, where applicable, a waitlisted player will be added to a roster.
Thank you for respecting the deadline and keeping your account up to date.
Hello, I hope you have all been informed of the Jr B meeting this Wed. night March 21st at Country Grocer on Bowen Road at 6:30 pm. This meeting will determine whether we will have a 2018 season as we are sorely lacking quantity of players so if you know anyone from age 16(17) this year up to 21 this year please inform them of this meeting. The decision has to be made this week as to whether we have enough players to go and if not, much to my disappointment we will have to fold this team for this year. Those that graduated out of Midget please try bringing your parents so we can explain what is taking place. Rally up boys!
This season NDLA has spent a large amount of money purchasing new jerseys for (nearly) every division. Our equipment manager worked very hard on the design and was able to replace the majority of jerseys for us – thank you!
We understand that some teams are talking about ordering their own jerseys and we, as an association, are asking that this not happen. We have specific colors and logos that are required to be on the jerseys and the association has spent a lot of time and effort to insure that “Nanimo Timbermen” is uniform!
If your team is going to pursue buying jerseys after this, the following MUST be met:
- jerseys must be discussed with our equipment manager and planned put with him.
- jersey styles must be selected from one of the three styles/designs that the association endorsed for NDLA
- jersey proposals must then be brought to the board for a vote on whether approved or not
- jerseys must be ordered through one of the companies that the association supports.
- no advertisements/sponsor bars can be on the jerseys
- jerseys MUST have stop signs
The first board meeting after the season starts is May 2nd – this would be the earliest the board could vote on individual jerseys.
We appreciate teams wearing and representing Nanaimo Timbermen this season and are confident that the new jerseys will look fantastic.
