Important Fee Update
The Canadian Lacrosse Association has increased fees to support Olympic inclusion and national team development. As a result, NDLA will be adjusting our fees accordingly. If fees are a barrier, please explore financial assistance options here:

Communication
We share updates through:
Please note: We are a 100% volunteer-run organization, so social media and the website will be your main sources of information.
Preseason
Drop-in sessions begin in January at the Harewood Outdoor Covered Box (740 Howard Ave). Schedules for each age group will be posted in late December or early January.
Evaluation dates will also be posted online. These help to balance younger divisions (U11 and under) and determine A/B teams for older groups. Please do not email for schedules—they will be posted as soon as available.
Opening Day - April 11, 2026
Join us at the Nanaimo Ice Centre for our Opening Day celebration! Expect a parade of teams, swag table, food trucks, and plenty of lacrosse. A full event schedule will be shared closer to the date.
Photo Day - April 12, 2026
Team photo day takes place at the Nanaimo Ice Centre. Each player receives a complimentary memory mate (individual + team photo). Additional products will be available for purchase from local photographer Lance Sullivan (Concept Photography). Schedules will be posted once teams are formed.
We Need Referees!
We continue to face a referee shortage, especially adults able to officiate U15 and up. Since COVID, numbers have dropped and last season games had to be moved due to limited officials. We’re looking for new referees ages 13+ (adults especially welcome). Scheduling is flexible, and you choose how many games you work. Adult involvement greatly improves referee retention and helps support our youth officials.
Interested? Contact: Sarah: ndlaheadref@gmail.com, Erica: ndlarefereeallocator@gmail.com
Please also help us retain officials by showing respect from the stands. Many referees are youth and yelling or swearing at them drives them away. Let’s make 2026 a season of positive cheering and respectful behavior.
